Instructions: Wash, core and chop the apples. Cut tomatoes into quarters. Peel and roughly chop onions. Place in a lage saucepan, add saltanas and mix well. Add vinegar, cover pan, cook gently for 1 hour.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer gently fo 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. The finished chutney should be thick and smooth. Pour into hot jars and cover. Allow to mature for a few weeks before using. Makes about 8 cups. Keeps for 3-4 months. Ensure storage jars are well sterilised. Email this Recipe:
