Instructions: Combine shortening and 2/3 cup sugar in a large mixing bowl; beat well.
Add egg; beat well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream: beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in walnuts. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Dip bottom or a glass in water; dip in sugar, and gently press each cookie until 2-inches in diameter. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon; lightly sprinkle over cookies. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes; cook on wire racks. Makes 3 1/2 dozen. Email this Recipe:
