Instructions: Combine 1/3 cup olive oil, soy sauce and chopped garlic. Set aside. Combine vinegar, sugar and remaining 1/3 cup olive oil. Set aside.
Cut off the base of each cabbage head, remove any damaged outer leaves and cut, through the base, into 1-inch-thick slices. Cut onion into thick slices. Place cabbage and onion slices on grill and drizzle with olive oil-soy sauce mixture. Grill over medium-hot coals until tender and just starting to char, about 4 minutes per side. Roughly chop or slice grilled cabbage and onion, then combine with vinegar-sugar mixture. When ready to serve, toss with basil and gorgonzola. This recipe yields 10 to 15 servings. Email this Recipe:
