Ingredients:

2/3 cup olive oil divided
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tbl chopped garlic
2/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1 head red cabbage
1 head white cabbage
1 lrg red onion
4 tbl chopped fresh basil
(or 2 tbspns basil
and 2 tbspns fresh oregano
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine 1/3 cup olive oil, soy sauce and chopped garlic. Set aside. Combine vinegar, sugar and remaining 1/3 cup olive oil. Set aside.

Cut off the base of each cabbage head, remove any damaged outer leaves and cut, through the base, into 1-inch-thick slices. Cut onion into thick slices.

Place cabbage and onion slices on grill and drizzle with olive oil-soy sauce mixture. Grill over medium-hot coals until tender and just starting to char, about 4 minutes per side.

Roughly chop or slice grilled cabbage and onion, then combine with vinegar-sugar mixture. When ready to serve, toss with basil and gorgonzola.

This recipe yields 10 to 15 servings.
