Instructions: In a large skillet, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain well.
In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart crockery cooker, spoon 1/3 cup tomato sauce into bottom of the cooker. Layer half of the potatoes, onion, undrained beans, beef, mushrooms, garlic powder, and pepper. Repeat layers; pour remaining tomato sauce over. Cover and cook on high heat setting 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until the potatoes are tender. Stir mixture just before serving. Makes 6 servings. NOTES : This is one dish Bill can walk away from when duty calls. When the alarm sounds, its not unusual for the captain to leave food half prepared or for the firefighters to dash away from unfinished meals. Email this Recipe:
