Instructions: Place pears in a blender or food processor with pear juice and blend until smooth. Transfer to the slow cooker, set on low and cook for 6 to 7 hours. Stir occasionally. Let mixture cool; add crystallized ginger, reblend and stir in spices. If desired, add more spices to taste. Store in the refrigerator after cooling to room temperature.
For Shelf Storage: Place in hot, sterilized canning jars. Wipe rim carefully and place prepared lids on jar. Tighten ring. Place in tall pot (to allow 2 inches of water over top of jars), cover with water, bring to a boil and boil for 20 minutes. Allow to cool in water, remove carefully and set jars on a dishtowel and cover with another dishtowel. Wipe dry and store in cool dry place. Email this Recipe:
