Instructions: Cut chocolate bar into 32 squares. Cream shortening, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Shape just enough dough around each chocolate square to cover completely. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
