Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
2 oz Vegetable margarine
1 x Finely chopped onion
4 oz Mushrooms, chopped (optional)
5 oz Rolled oats
6 oz Finely grated carrot
5 oz Vegetarian cheese, grated
1 x Free range egg, beaten
1 x Clove garlic, crushed (optional)
1 tbl Soya sauce
1 tbl Tomato sauce or puree
1 tsp Basil
Instructions:
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 170 C/325 F/gas mark 3.

2. Melt the margarine in a pan. Gently cook the onion and mushrooms for 5 minutes. Transfer them to a mixing bowl and add all the other ingredients.

3. Season to taste with salt and pepper and mix well. Press mixture into a greased, shallow baking tin and bake for 25-30 minutes.

4. Cut into 20 small squares and serve.

NOTES : Makes 20 small squares. These savoury squares are unexpectedly good.
