Instructions: Dissolve butter, sugar and salt in hot water. While cooling, dissolve yeast cakes in lukewarm water. Then add yeast mixture, eggs and 5 cups of flour. Beat 5 minutes. Cover and let rise. When rises to double in bulk, beat in remaining 2 cups of flour sifted with baking soda and baking powder.
Roll out about 1/2-inch thick, and cut. Rise and fry at 375 degrees. Either eat plain or with toppings, such as glazes of vanilla icing, chocolate icing cinnamon and sugar mixture.
