2 x apples
2 x pears
1 lrg orange
2 x satsumas or tangerines
2 x bananas
2 tbl soft brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 pch ground cloves
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350 F/180C/Gas Mark 4.

Core the apples and pears but dont peel them.

Cut each one into 12 slices.

Peel the orange and satsumas and divide them into segments.

Remove any pips and pith.

Peel the bananas and slice them across into 25mm pieces.

Mix all the fruit together in a bowl adding the sugar and spices and stir so its thoroughly coated.

Spoon the fruit into a baking dish and dot with butter.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Take it out spoon the juices over the fruit and bake for another 20 minutes.

The fruit should just start to caramelise by the end of this time.

Serve hot with a little pouring cream or fromage frais.

You could also allow it to cool then chill it before serving

This hot fruit salad provides an unusual way of using simple everyday ingredients. The spices bring out the flavours of the fruit in a most enticing way.
