4 x hot cross buns
butter
apricot jam or marmalade
4 x eggs
1/3 cup sugar
3 cup evaporated milk
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 180C. and lightly grease a oblong ovenproof dish with a little butter. Cut each hot cross bun into 3 vertical pieces and spread each piece with butter and jam. Layer the slices into the dish. In a jug, combine milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla essence and pour over the mixture over hot cross buns. Let stand until milk mixture is absorbed [about 30-35 minutes]. Stand dish in a baking dish filled with 3cm of boiling water and cook until it is firm; about 35-40 minutes.
