Instructions: In a mixer bowl cream together butter, sugar, salt and egg yolk until smooth. Blend in the flour, vanilla and nuts until the mixture forms a smooth dough. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill up to 2 days. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thick. Cut in to desired shapes. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
