Instructions: Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the turmeric and let sizzle for a few seconds. Add cumin seeds and ginger and saute for a minute. Add potatoes. Stir well. Add yogurt and stir to coat potatoes. Cook for a couple of minutes. Add water, salt and garam masala. Cover and cook on high heat till the water boils.
Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 20 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with puris, rice or pita bread. Note: Garam masala is a spice blend available in larger supermarkets or Indian groceries. Email this Recipe:
