150 gm basmati rice wasired and drairled
600 ml milk
4 tbl almond powder or ground almonds
300 ml evapourated milk
sugar to taste
2 tbl raisins
2 tbl pistachio nuts chopped
1 x teaspooll cardamom powder
Instructions:
Instructions: Bring the rice to the boil with the milk in a heavy pan then allow to simmer for an hour or until mushy.

Mash the rice roughly with a whisk while still on the heat.

Blend the almonds into the evapourated milk and add to the rice.

Stir until thick and creamy.

Add the sugar raisins and pistachios.

Sprinkle the cardamom powder over and stir well.

Serve chilled garnished with rose petals.

Considered one of the most auspicious of all indian foods and finds a place of distinction at every feast.
