Instructions: Combine eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup in a bowl and mix well. Dip one slice of bread in the egg mixture, coating it well. Put in hot pan, cooking until the side is browned. Flip it over and brown other side. Prepare and cook each slice like this.
NOTES : Ive been making this recipe for 15 years, more than half my life. Betsey and I enjoyed French toast, so we decided to try to make our own. It was very simple in the beginning: just eggs, cinnamon, and bread. The first innovation was nutmeg. My favorite innovation was adding a little real maple syrup.
