Instructions: Filling: Dice onion and brown with hamburger in skillet. Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, and at least 5 ounces water. Cook until water is absorbed and filling is thick. Cut up lettuce and tomato and grate cheese, if desired, on tacos.
Tortillas: Heat shortening or oil, about 1/2 inch deep, in frying pan. Cook tortillas only a few seconds for soft tacos or longer for crispy, but fold to make a shell before they get crisp. Lay on paper towels to absorb excess grease. Build tacos and garnish with hot sauce if desired. Email this Recipe:
