2 cup basmati rice
2 tbl cumin seeds
1 x " stick cinnamon (opt.)
4 x cloves (opt.)
8 x black peppercorns (opt.)
2 x green cardamom (opt.)
3 cup boiling water
2 tbl ghee/ vegetable or groundnut oil
Instructions:
Instructions: Pick, clean and wash rice. Soak it water for 15 minutes. Drain the rice. Heat oil/ghee in a large pan and let smoke. Put cumin seeds.

Let them crackle. Add spices if using. Saute for a minute on a low flame. Add drained rice and saute for 3 minutes. Pour in boiling water and salt to taste. Cover tightly and let it cook for 20-30 minutes or till cooked. Serve with a curry of your choice.
