Instructions: Peel the potatoes and slice very thin. Use 1 Tbsp. of the butter to butter a shallow baking dish. Arrange an even layer of half the potatoes in the dish. Lightly sprinkle the potatoes with salt. Cover with 3 Tbsp. of the cheese. Spread remaining potatoes over the cheese. Lightly sprinkle with salt. Cover with remaining cheese. Pour milk over the top. Dot with remaining butter. Sprinkle with the herbs. Bake at 450 degrees for about 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender and browned.
