Instructions: Natures bounty is so magnificent at this autumn time of year that its easy to find ways to appreciate her. This cake is certainly one of them, and teaches us to appreciate the bounty of our own existence in every season, but especially in this moment. Then we can plant the seeds of that joy in all that we do.
Mix together the dry ingredients, raisins, and walnuts in a large bowl. Melt the butter in the oven while it heats; mix with honey molasses, and applesauce. Add wet to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour batter into a well buttered 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325 for 40-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serves 8.
