Sift dry ingredients together; blend in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand for 5 minutes. Add to buttermilk. Add this mixture to the flour mixture; blend well. Turn out on floured surface; roll to desired thickness. Cut biscuits; dip in melted margarine. Place on a greased pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes. (Note: The biscuits can be baked at once, or let rise a few minutes before baking. You can also go ahead and make the biscuits and cover with foil and freeze. Dough will keep in refrigerator a few days, and you can make them up as needed.) Email this Recipe:
