Instructions: Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, salt, soda, and powder. Combine buttermilk with vanilla. Add milk and flour mixtures alternately to butter mixture until well combined. Turn into a greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 for 60 to 65 minutes.
Butter sauce: 1 c sugar 1/4 c water 1/2 c butter or margarine Combine in saucepan. Heat until butter melts-add 1 T vanilla. Poke holes into top of cake with fork. Pour sauce slowly over cake while still in pan. Cool and remove from pan. Email this Recipe:
