2 tbl oil
1/2 sm onion chopped
3 cup shredded green cabbage
(abt 1/2 small head)
2 sm turnips peeled, and
cut into 1" cubes
1 can reduced-sodium chicken broth - (14 1/2 oz) plus
2 can water
1 x bay leaf
1/2 tsp caraway seeds
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 pkt sugar substitute
3/4 lb fully-cooked smoked sausage
(such as kielbasa)
1 tsp red wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Instructions: Heat oil in large saucepot over medium heat. Cook onion 5 minutes until softened. Add cabbage, turnips, broth, water, bay leaf, caraway seeds, salt, and sugar substitute. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, partially covered 20 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaf.

Cut sausage in 1/2-inch slices. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, until lightly browned. Stir sausage slices and vinegar into soup. Add salt and pepper to taste.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
