Instructions: Squeeze tofu with paper towel and mash it. In a large bowl, put beef, mashed tofu and the sauce and mix well.
Cut hot peppers lengthwise into two. Apply flour to the inner side of peppers. Fill peppers with beef and tofu mixture (Kochoo Jeon). Shape remaining beef and tofu mixture into 1-inch round patties (Don Jeon). Coat round patties with flour. Coat meat side of stuffed pepper with flour. Dip stuffed peppers and patties into beaten egg. In a fry pan, cook Jeons with cooking oil until golden (mediun heat). Serve when they are warm. Sprinkle some soy sauce if you like salty taste. Comments: Jeon is traditional Korean dish. It is not an ordinary dish you can eat everyday. Of course you can eat it everyday if you like, but traditionally, it is usually used for party. There are various kinds of Jeons in Korea (zuccini Jeon, fish Jeon, beef liver Jeon, hot pepper Jeon, circle shape Jeon, and so on). Kochoo Jeon means hot pepper Jeon, and Don Jeon means circle shape Jeon ("Don" means coin). Coating with flours and dipping into eggs, and saute with cooking oil is the typical way of making Jeons.
