Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
1 tbl olive oil
1 lrg yellow onion, finely chopped
3 x cloves garlic, minced
2 lb ground turkey meat, or diced leftover
cooked turkey meat
8 lrg ripe tomatoes, peeled and diced or
3 cup canned whole peeled tomatoes, chopped
2 x chipotle chiles, stems removed
3 tbl New Mexico red chile powder
1 x triangle, (approx. 1/2 oz.) Mexican-style
sweet chocolate
6 cup cooked pinto beans
3 cup water
1 cup dry red wine
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground oregano
Instructions:
Instructions: !!!!!!!!!!!!! This chili is HOT! Reduce the amount of chipotle chile and New Mexico red chile powder if you want to temper the fire.

Heat the oil in a heavy pot or Dutch oven and saute the onion and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the turkey and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve this chili with warm flour tortillas and cold beer and follow with a cooling fruit ice or sorbet for dessert.
