Instructions: Melt butter in top of a double boiler, add flour. Whip until smoth. Add rest of ingredients except beer and cook in double boiler until smooth.

Add beer just before serving. (optional)

Toast Bread.(2 slices for each sandwich) Add shaved ham, turkey, chicken, ground beef patty or your choice of meat open faced style on toast. Cover with cheese sauce. Mound french fries on top. Serve immediately.

Springfield is known as the home of the Horseshoe sandwich and they are very good.
