Instructions: Beat first 3 ingredients at high speed with an electric mixer until foamy.
Add 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time; beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in lemon peel, lemon juice and vanilla. Combine remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar and cake flour; gradually fold into egg white mixture. Spoon batter into a 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden.
