Instructions: Prepare a large bowl of ice water. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch beans for 3 minutes. Cooking time may vary by a minute, more or less, depending on the beans; you want them crisp-tender. Plunge blanched beans into ice water to stop the cooking. Beans can be prepared to this point up to a day in advance. Refrigerate them in a plastic bag until ready to use.
To heat for serving, place butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beans and toss gently until heated through and evenly coated with oil and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Place beans on a serving platter and sprinkle with lemon juice and chopped nuts. Email this Recipe:
