Instructions: Wash red lentils, drain thoroughly.
Fry finely sliced onions, garlic and finely chopped fresh ginger in 1-2 tablespoons oil. When onions are lightly browned, stir in turmeric and lentils. Cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes, add 2 cups water, diced tomatoes, salt to taste, simmer till lentils are tender. Puree in blender and season well. Serve warm or cold with curries. Email this Recipe:
