28 gm butter
112 gm smoked bacon chopped
1 x onion finely chopped
1 x carrot finely chopped
1 stk celery finely chopped
140 gm lentils soaked
875 ml chicken stock
1 pch nutmeg
1 x bay leaf
1 tbl parsley finely chopped
1 tsp Worcester sauce

1 Melt butter in pan add chopped bacon onion carTot celery and fry until soft 2 Add lentils stock and remaining ingredients 3 Bring to the boil cover and simmer for 45 minutes1 hour or until lentils are soft and not gritty 4 Blend until mixture is smooth
5 Sprinkle with chopped parsley
6 Serve hot with crunchy French bread
