Instructions: In a large skillet, cook meat, onion and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce and paste, basil, oregano, fennel seed and ground red pepper. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.
Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions, except omit the oil. Then drain noodles. Stir together the egg, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, parsley and the pepper. In a 9x13x2-inch baking dish, layer half of noodles, half of cottage cheese mixture, half of Mozzarella and half of meat sauce. Repeat layers then sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until heated through. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Email this Recipe:
