Instructions: Cream together the shortening, vanilla, maple flavoring, brown sugar and eggs. In a separate bowl, stir flour and soda together; add to creamed mixture, alternately with sour cream. Drop onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 350* until brown; do not underbake.

Icing:
6 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. maple flavoring
1/2 cup evaporated milk
Confectioners sugar

Melt butter and cool to room temperature; stir in maple flavoring and milk. Stir in confectioners until icing is thick enough. Frost cooled cookies with a thick layer of icing.
