Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 F. Blend butter, sugar, syrup, eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour with salt and baking powder. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter and egg mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into well-greased pans and bake for 10 minutes. Carefully turn cakes onto racks to cool. Ice with Soft Maple Icing. Soft Maple Icing: 1/4 cup soft butter 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 1/2 cups icing sugar Blend butter, syrup and vanilla until smooth. Gradually blend in sugar. Email this Recipe:
