Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix (reserve 2/3 cups), butter and egg; mix until crumbly. Press into prepared pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown. Meanwhile, combine reserved cake mix, brown sugar, syrup, eggs and flavoring; beat until smooth. Pour over crust; sprinkle with walnuts. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool and cut into bars.
