Instructions: The basic ratio for these margaritas is 3 parts tequila to 2 parts sour mix.
Make the Simple Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, and simmer for 1 minute, until the sugar has dissolved. The mixture can be stored refrigerated in an airtight container indefinitely. ( Makes about 1 cup) Make the Sour Mix: Combine all ingredients in a jar. Cover, and shake to combine. Store, refrigerated in an airtight container, for up to 3 days. (Makes 3 1/2 cups) Spread salt in a small rimmed plate. Run a wedge of lime around rim of serving glasses. Dip glasses into salt to coat edges. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, sour mix, and Cointreau. Shake to combine. Pour margaritas into salt-rimmed glass. Squeeze a wedge of lime over top, discarding lime wedge; do not stir. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge, and serve. This recipe yields 2 servings. Email this Recipe:
