Instructions: Sift sugar, flour, cocoa, soda, and salt. Add mayonnaise, water and vanilla. Stir well, but dont beat. Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans. Pour batter into pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes. Frost with your favorite frosting.

*This is the first cake that I ever learned to bake. I was about 9 or 10 years old, I think.

This recipe is obviously pretty foolproof, and it is a good one for young or inexperienced bakers. It also makes a very delicious chocolate cake; it is still one of my favorites.
