Instructions: Dice onions, capsicum, tomatoes.
Drain and rinse kidney beans. Filling: Fry minced beef until browned. Add onion, garlic and fry gently for 5 minutes. Add Tomatoes, Tomato Paste, Capsicum, Paprika, Chilli Powder and Tabasco Sauce and drained kidney beans. Simmer for 20 minutes or until thick, stirring occasionally. Allow to cool. Cut pastry into rounds with a 9cm cutter (9 per sheet). Put a teaspoon of filling onto each round, glaze edges of pastry with beaten egg, fold in half and press edges together to seal. Repeat for remaining pastry and filling. Deep fry, a few at a time, in hot oil until golden brown. Drain turnovers well on absorbant paper and serve. Makes about 40-50. Email this Recipe:
