1 x Granny Smith apple, peeled, finely chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbl apricot jam
3 tbl ground almonds
1 tbl all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp butter
1 sht frozen puff pastry dough
milk
powdered sugar
whipped cream
Instructions:
Instructions: 1. Combine apples with lemon juice and jam. Combine almonds, flour, and cinnamon in bowl, cut in butter, combine with apple mixture

2. Cut pastry into 4 even-size squares. Place apple mixture along center of each square. Make 8 cuts in the pastry on either side of the apple mixture.

3. Use top and bottom strips of pastry to enclose filling, divide remaining strips of pastry in half lengthwise.

4. Place strips of pastry across filling in a criss-cross fashion. Place on lightly greased oven tray, brush with milk, bake in 425 degrees oven 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar, serve warm with whipped cream and almonds.
