Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
1/2 kg apples, Granny Smith
450 gm sugar, brown
600 ml vinegar, cider
250 gm onions, medium
250 gm dates
250 gm saltanas
1 tbl salt
1 tbl ground ginger
Instructions:
Instructions: Peel, core and dice apples.

Dice onions.

Chop dates.

Place all ingredients except mint in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring well. Reduce heat; simmer 1 1/4 hours or until thick and golden brown. Stir often. Stir in mint.

Ladle into hot jars and seal.

Let mature 1 month before using.

Makes 3 litres.

Keeps for 3-4 months.

Ensure storage jars are well sterilised.
