Instructions: Dust meat with half of the flour, heat oil in large heavy pot. Brown meat in oil. Sprinkle remaining flour over cooked meat and stir to blend. Add tomato sauce, water, cream of chicken soup, onion soup mix, garlic, Kitchen Bouquet, pepper, and Irish Whiskey or beer. Stir to mix, bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours on low.
Add potatoes, carrots and bring back to a boil and cook about 45 minutes until vegetables are tender. NOTES : This is not Moms traditional stew. She made this one for a recipe contest. I like her original better. - Jamie Email this Recipe:
