Ingredients:

1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup 100% Bran cereal or All Bran
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds (Just throw them in frying pan)
1 tbl baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice optional
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 pch salt
1 x egg
3/4 cup buttermilk or lf yogurt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil or sub applesauce
2 tbl molasses or honey
1/2 cup carrots grated
1/2 cup dates chopped
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine all the dry ingredients (except raisins and carrots) in a large bowl. In another bowl whisk together the egg, sugar, buttermilk/yogurt, mollasses, oil. Add to the dry stuff. Mix until moist. Add carrot and raisins. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Either makes 12 muffins or 24 bars (based on a 13x9 pan). Each bar has 119 and 4g of fat. However, the fat can be reduced by substituting apple sauce. That is what I did and the results were very good! I would keep in an airtight container in the fridge.

[I posted a recipe for "Morning Glory Muffin BArs" which use only 1/2 a cup of brown sugar but they also dried out quickly. Today I doubled the applesauce and added to cut up apples that solved tha moisture problem and well I did not add as much sugar. I think you could get away without any sugar in this recipe. The recipe either makes 12 muffins or 24 bars.

I have further modified the recipe in that I do not use any oil. Iggulden]
