2 tbl vegetable oil
2 lb ground turkey
1 lrg onion chopped
1 lrg green bell pepper seeded, chopped
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup dried currants
2 tbl olive oil
2 tbl capers
1 tsp minced fresh ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread oil on a large rimmed baking sheet.

In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls, taking care not to compact the mixture too tightly.

Place oiled baking sheet in the oven 2 minutes. Arrange meatballs on the heated baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake 15 minutes, turn meatballs and rotate the pan. Bake 10 to 12 more minutes, or until meatballs are evenly browned and cooked through. Serve hot.

This recipe yields 55 meatballs.

Do-Ahead Tip: You can cook the meatballs as much as 1 month in advance. Wrap airtight and freeze. Thaw meatballs overnight in the refrigerator. Reheat on a lightly greased cookie sheet in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
