Instructions: Mix pecans, 1/2 cup sugar and cracker crumbs in bowl. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff; gradually add vanilla and 1/2 cup sugar. Fold crumb mixture into egg white mixture; pour into greased pie plate and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool thoroughly; top with whipped cream. Chill well before serving.
