Instructions: Combine cornmeal, flour, and salt. Cut in shortening and cheese until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, stir ring lightly only until dry ingredients are dampened.
Knead gently for a few seconds on lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into strips, triangles, diamonds, or other fancy shapes. Place on baking sheet and bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes or until delicately browned. Serve warm or cold. Yield: 3 dozen. Email this Recipe:
