Instructions: All ingredients should be at room temperature. Cream butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add sherry and vanilla and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into creamed mixture until soft dough forms. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a juice glass coated with colored and/or decorative sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
