Instructions: Soften yeast in warm water. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Add sour cream and softened yeast. Add flour, gradually mixing well. Turn mixture onto floured board. Knead dough 5 to 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll thin and spread with nut filling. Roll up, jelly roll fashion and place on greased cookie sheets. Let stand 1 hour to rise. Brush with well beaten whole egg. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Freezes well.
Nut Filling For Nut Roll 1 cup milk, scalded 3 cups sugar 8 cups nuts 4 tsp. vanilla Scald milk; add sugar and dissolve well. Add nuts. Lastly add vanilla and mix well. Cool before spreading on dough. Peggy Says: In loving memory for Christmass past with my Aunt Lona Vinson. Email this Recipe:
