Instructions: Pour boiling water over oats and set aside to cool, then add oil. Dissolve yeast in the water, add the brown sugar, salt and cooled oatmeal. Mix in the flour and turn out on a floured board. Knead for a minute or two, let rest for 10 minutes and finish kneading. Oil the mixing bowl and let the dough rise until double in bulk. Push down and let rise again. Shape into desired rolls or loaves and let rise again. Bake at 375F for 20-25 minutes.
Makes 3-4 dozen rolls or 3 loaves of bread. Email this Recipe:
