Recommend grinding up some oats and putting them in the freezer so you will have some on hand the way you would flour. I used oats to thicken a pork, carrot, parsnip, pea etc stew gravy and oats really added depth of flavor. the gravy was nice and smooth. wonderful. i will do that more often. Email this Recipe:
