1 lrg onion
3 x -4 oz purchased** gram (chickpea) flour (chickpeas are garbanzo beans)
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp garam masala**
Oil for deep fat frying Slice the onion finely and soften in a little hot oil
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix the flour and spices together and add the water. Stir to make a stiff, smooth batter - adding more flour if necessary. Season with a little salt.

Stir in the onions then take a heaped tablespoon of the batter at a time and deep fry until golden brown.

Drain on paper and keep warm until all the bhajees are cooked.
