Instructions: Grease and flour inside of Bread n Cake Bake Pan.
In large bowl, combine snipped dates and orange peel. Stir in boiling water and orange juice. Add sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla, stirring just until mixed. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to date mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared Bread n Cake Bread Pan. Place cover on Bake Pan. Place Bake Pan in CROCK-POT Slow Cooker. Cover Slow Cooker and bake on HIGH 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Check bread after 1 1/2 hours for doneness. Bread is done when sides start pulling away from pan.
