1/2 lb round steak
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbl shortening
1 can tomatoes, (16 oz.) cut up
1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
Instructions:
Instructions: Cut meat into 6 serving size portions. Combine flour and salt. With meat mallet, pound 2 tablespoons of mixture into meat on both sides. Brown meat on both sides in hot shortening. Transfer meat to a 12x7 1/2x2-inch baking dish. Blend remaining 2 tablespoons flour mixture into pan drippings. Stir in undrained tomatoes, celery, carrots, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly: pour over meat. Bake steak, covered, in 350 degree oven about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Serves 6.
