30 gm butter
2 x crisp eating apples unpeeled cored and thickly sliced
1 tbl pure maple syrup
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
50 ml milk
1 lrg egg
2 tsp caster sugar plus extra for sprinkling
Instructions:
Instructions: Melt half the butter in a saucepan and add the apple slices maple syrup and cinnamon.

Cook over a medium heat for 10 tjo 15 minutes or until the apples are just tender.

In a wide bowl whisk together the niilk egg and sugar then dip in the bread to soak.

Heat the rest of the butter in a frying pan then add the bread and fry until golden brown about 3 minutes each side.

To serve sprinkle the bread with sugar then place in 2 bowls.

Top with the apples and pan juices.

Offer extra syrup and thick cream for the greedy.

Serves 4
